Introduction
We haven’t had a pleasant year in 2021. Due to the epidemic, many great movies had to be postponed, and we’ve been sucked into our homes binge-watching and rewatching reruns of our favorite movies from the past, and we’re getting tired of it!
Thankfully, cinemas are expected to reopen in 2022, and we can anticipate seeing some of the best films of the year.
Here are a few of the amazing picks you may look forward to seeing in 2022:
Uncharted (Feb 18, 2022)
Is it possible that Spider-Man has grown tired of chasing down criminals and has switched his focus to pursuing treasure? Yes, and this time he’s parkouring!
The Uncharted movie has officially concluded filming after 7 director changes.
That means the Tom Holland-led version of the games will be released in theaters during our lifespan. We didn’t expect this to ever finish after such a rocky production procedure. However, here we are. Sully will be played by Mark Wahlberg, who will act as a mentor to Nathan Drake, who will be played by Tom Holland. This will take place prior to the games, which will focus on older incarnations of the characters. Sony, on the other hand, has set itself up for a franchise by going young. There will undoubtedly be sequels.
Uncharted introduces viewers to youthful street-savvy Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and his first treasure hunt quest with trusted companion Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). The two embark on a daring quest for “the greatest treasure never uncovered” while also obtaining clues that could lead to Nathan’s long-lost relative in an epic action-adventure that spans the entire globe.
John Wick: Chapter 4 (May 27, 2022)
A modest Keanu Reeve is set to star in yet another blockbuster sequel.
The Tick Tock Man (Jason Mantzoukas) drags Wick’s barely alive body into the sewers via a shopping cart in John Wick: Chapter 3. He dumps Wick at the feet of a slashed, sliced, and yet living Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne), who withstood Zero’s seven cuts.
Shivering and bleeding, John Wick lies on the ground. If he intends to stay alive, the Bowery King instructs him to raise his hand. John Wick lifts his hand, revealing his severed ring finger stolen by The Elder. John Wick reacts with a shaky middle finger at the King’s mockery of his dismemberment. He may be losing on the scoreboard, but he isn’t out. Both outcasts have been beaten and bloodied. Long enough has the High Table governed. Both have nothing more to lose and race to bring down the entire criminal enterprise together.
With all of these in mind, we can expect a much vicious and bloodied revenge between John Wick and his enemies.
The Batman (March 4, 2022)
Is it true that a once teenage heartthrob has evolved into a lethal batman!? Yes, and he’s capturing your mother’s heart this time.
Bruce Wayne has been dragged deep into the Gotham City shadows after two years of haunting the streets as Batman (Robert Pattinson) continues to terrorize its criminals. With just a few trusted supporters within the city’s crooked network of politicians and high-profile figures — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — the lone vigilante has positioned himself as the ultimate embodiment of vengeance.
You can expect to see some notorious villains such as Catwoman (Zo Kravtiz), The Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and The Riddler (Paul Dano).
Avatar 2 (Dec 16, 2022)
The long-awaited Avatar 2 features a reunion between director James Cameron and Sam Worthington, the protagonist of the very first film and its future sequels. Cameron’s first Avatar film was released in 2009 with box office success, with most reviews applauding the film’s innovative use of visual effects and the star-studded cast’s outstanding performances. The movie went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time for almost a decade after its debut, sealing its place in cinematic history.
The first of several future sequels, Avatar 2 will follow Jake Sully, a former human from the first film, as he lives in the world of Pandora with his newfound family. Jake must cooperate with Neytiri and the Na’vi race’s army to safeguard their world as a familiar foe returns to finish what was started previously. Worthington, CCH Pounder, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Giovanni Ribisi are among those scheduled to return from Avatar.
Scream 5 (Jan 14, 2022)
A new killer has adopted the Ghostface mask and is targeting a group of teenagers to unearth secrets from the town’s dark past, twenty-five years after a string of violent killings stunned the quiet town of Woodsboro.
With Scream 5 set to hit theaters on January 14th, 2022, the new film could finally put an end to a huge plot hole from Scream 3. Scream 3 was written with two killers in mind in the early versions, with Roman Bridger’s partner-in-crime being Angelina Tyler, his rumored secret girlfriend, but in the end, Roman operated as a lone killer.
You might be astonished to learn that Angelina Jolie’s murder could be staged, and she could reemerge in Scream 5 as the new Ghostface.
The Bottom Line
Despite the fact that the COVID pandemic has taken a toll on our physical and mental well-being, 2022 is gearing up to be a year of healing, and we have a lot to look forward to.
Mark these movies on your calendar so you can be the first in line to get the best seats with your friends and family.
